The One About Tea-Pops (Spearmint Berry)!

The One About Tea-Pops (Spearmint Berry)!

Being cocooned at home has us constantly reaching into the fridge and pantry for all kinds of feel-good treats. As a lot of you are, we too are trying as much as possible to keep a healthy balance to our snacking, so we have been experimenting with tea-infused treats.

For this recipe, we created some kid-friendly easy-to-make immune boosting Spearmint Berry Tea popsicles (Tea-Pops)! Homemade Tea-Pops are great because creating them can be a fun activity for the whole family, and it offers a healthy snack option for those moments when you crave something more natural.

For this recipe, we used popsicle molds. But if the molds are not currently accessible to you, check out this blog for some handy alternatives!

Enjoy!

Recipe
Servings: 6 Tea Pops
Ingredients:
  • 4 Zambezi spoonfuls of Monkey Bay Spearmint Tea
  • 1 1/2 cups (12 oz) of water
  • 2 cups (7.1 oz) of fresh mixed berries - we used strawberries and raspberries
  • 4 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Steps:
  1. In a pan, combine the water, maple syrup, and spearmint leaves. Heat up until the maple syrup is completely dissolved and the spearmint tea is well stepped (about 4-5 minutes).
  2. Using the Namib strainer, strain the spearmint tea into a mug, and set aside to cool.
  3. Place the berries, vanilla extract, and the cooled tea into a blender, and blend until smooth.
  4. Pour the blended mixture into the popsicle molds/maker.
  5. Freeze for at least 8 hours (overnight recommended).
  6. To remove the popsicles from the molds, run the molds under warm water for a few seconds and the popsicles should slide right out.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Some notes:
  • If you don’t have fresh berries, frozen berries also work with this recipe.
  • You can substitute the maple syrup with any sweetener of your choice (honey, sugar, etc.).
Till next time,
